Hang Ups art installation at The Odeon, Wimbledon

ShadowStage Productions' contemporary shadow theatre film, Hang Ups, forms the centrepiece of an unusual and original collaborative interactive interdisciplinary arts installation project which was premiered at the Odeon, Wimbledon in October 2011. Directed and produced by Leon Conrad, featuring Natasha Barhedia as shadow theatre performer,it is based on a short piece by award-winning writer Eley Williams; featuring stills photography by photographer Andre Stefano with filming, editing and post-production work carried out by Charles-Antoine Hennegrave and music by Todd Hendricks.

Hang Ups
was developed through a process of experimentation and critical dialogue documented and archived between March and May 2011 – see:
Based on Eley Williams' strong, visual, emotive and engaging writing, the piece evokes the intensity of one person’s relationship with an old-fashioned telephone.

Hang Ups took ShadowStage's work into a novel dimension – that of film. It demanded a different mindset, a different approach which was not the same as those required for live theatre. Thus, the exploration of cinematic techniques fed into the company's ongoing work within contemporary shadow theatre.
